Losing someone is hard enough. Our team of lawyers are here to offer you practical advice about your appointment as executor, and to do whatever we can to help you through it.
In the Central Coast, Probate is generally required if the deceased owned land or property, had bank accounts over a certain value (which varies between banks) or had other high-value assets like shares or superannuation to be paid to the estate. Our Wills and estate experts can help you determine if you need Probate.
To obtain a grant of Probate in the Central Coast, you need need to get the death certificate, find the Will, lodge an online Notice of Intended Application with the NSW Supreme Court, wait 14 days in case anyone notifies you of a claim, prepare and mail your application and receive the grant in the mail. After this, you generally need to wait 6–12 months to distribute the estate.
